It is finally that time, the Myth Weavers Storycrafting contest crusave begun! Entrants will have from now until Details for the contest, the great prizes, and a place to ask questions may be found in the Storycrafting Announcement thread. May 5 ’14, First off I’d like to make my interest in this clear, I cursade not want to run such a game, I’d like to play in one!
I’ve recently begun re-watching Gundam Seed, not my favorite of the numerous series but not my least favorite either, and the more I watched the more I realised that I’d love to play in a game like this. I recalled that there was a ‘setting’ in d20 Future known as Mecha Crusade which was basically the premise of every Gundam show so far and after looking through both d20 Future and d20 Future Tech I begun to see how a game could be played out.
What I’m hoping is that there’s a potential GM out there that might be interested in running this using the d20 Modern rules please, no trying to convince me that this would run better in X, Y, or Z, yes that’s potentially true but not what I’m after. I’d be happy with whatever setting they came up with and happy playing on either ‘side’ of the war it’s generally Colonists versus Earth LoyalistsI just want big ships, large mecha and some great roleplay.
On a plus note, in such a game – in my opinion – it’d be quite possible to have different characters, it’s not like everyone needs to be mecga mecha jockey!

Dogfighters piloting craft from out of a carrier ship, Engineers constantly tinkering away, building new gear kecha keeping everything running smoothly, a Field Officer co-ordinating battles and ‘buffing’ friendlies Just a couple of random ideas. Back in England but a busy few weeks of adjustments, posting may be delayed! May 5 ’14, 9: Not the best sign! Out of curiosity, no interest as a player or no interest as a GM? No interest because d20 Modern takes a cgusade that is already very wonky 3.
I play mech games.
d20 Mecha Crusade
I run mech games currently running one that’s been going for over a year, even, mecya planning a new one for the Weave. I would not do either in d20 Modern even if you pointed a gun to my head, in spite of my love for giant robots, because the system is that bad.
Most people are not interested in it either, by the looks of it. It’s not even the best 3. There’s so many good mech games X systems are very particular in their workings in ways that don’t really help you play mecha.
I’d play a gundamlike game any day of the week, but Modern is part of my Unholy Trinity of terribly designed games and destroys any interest I might otherwise have in it. That’s my two cents. Maybe someone else will care to chime in on their reasons for not talking about it?
May 6 ’14, You state that you don’t want anyone to try and convince you to play a different system, so while the first thing I think is “What about one of the many excellent dedicated mecha RPGs? What about giant guardian generation? I thought it was very good for a gundam style game, offering generation abilities for both pilots and mecha Because he’s never heard of it, Fjol.
I think I’m like the only guy who not only knows about it but actively evangelizes people into playing the King of Mechgames. That, and its new edition Battle Century G hit so that’s what you should be playing now!
I’m gonna apologise in advance if I come across as abrupt, I’m trying not to be and I might mecna be imagining it but it’s not intended either way. Firstly, I specifically said d20 Modern because it’s freely accessible, based on rules that the majority of people on the Weave would be familiar with I believed and I know it.
Emphasis on knowing it, not knowing of it to clarify, I have heard of GGG Azerian Kelimon, I just don’t have the time to learn something new when playing something I already know would be easier.
Secondly, I specifically asked people not to come in bearing news about other systems because I didn’t and don’t want this turning into a debate on X being better mwcha Y. Thirdly, my question was actually whether the lack of replies compared to reads was due to the fact that nobody wanted to run it.

I’ve found on this site that as soon as someone crusadee up saying they’d run it, a dozen people come out of the shadows saying they’d be interested in playing. I’m sorry if people think my looking for a specific system is limiting discussion, it is kind of my intention I guess but only so far as it drives me insane seeing someone looking for a game using a specific system only to have the thread derailed by half a dozen people ‘suggesting’ other systems that the OP might never have heard of only for it to end up being run on system G instead of system A and the OP never seeing the game.
May 6 ’14, 1: Free and familiar is great, and this is a thread for getting you a game.
Sorry for losing sight of that. For what it’s worth, the post didn’t come across as abrupt to me.
I have seen that happen on a number of occasions, slowly, bit by bit. Okay, if you don’t want to talk system, maybe you could leave necha else up for debate? Maybe collaborate a possible setting? Last Database Backup
